In these core areas, you will develop screenplays for feature and documentary films as well as for experimental hybrid formats. In the area of directing, you will learn how to work with actors, staging and blocking, as well as scene resolution. In the camera courses, you will receive an introduction and in-depth courses in camera, lighting and studio technology in our film studio or in the hybrid studio.

In the film history and film theory courses, in addition to film history and phenomenologically oriented film theory, there is a focus on film and psychoanalysis. In the area of collaborative filmmaking, you will plan, produce and post-produce the short films written by students in a team. You will also organize events such as screenings or pitch sessions as part of a team. In addition, there are courses such as creative producing, budgeting, innovative audiovisual formats and pitching film ideas. In the elective subjects, you can also take subjects such as music video production, experimental film and animation. In the fourth semester, the focus is on the master’s thesis on a topic chosen by the student, which, in addition to a scientific part, also includes the individual development and production of a short film
